Tapestry-“The Lady and the Unicorn-The Smell” 23 by 31 inches

A gorgeous and famous miniature replica tapestry, from the Lady and the Unicorn series, currently on view at the Cluny Museum in Paris. This tapestry replica is entitled “The Smell”. There are six tapestries in the Lady and the Unicorn series symbolizing touch, taste, smell, hearing, sight and desire. The originals were woven in the 1500’s. The tapestries have animals, flowers and flags against a darker maroon red background. In “The Smell,” you see the Lady and her maiden, with the unicorn on her left and the smiling lion on her right, both looking at the Lady. This miniature is 23 by 31 inches, and has the ability to be easily hung on a wall, using a tapestry rod (not included). Backing is a grey cotton. Tapestry is in great condition. Colors are subtle-love the slate blue colors. Facial features are sublime. Love that unicorn! Will be shipped rolled in a tube.
