Vintage Sony CB-200W Walkie Talkie Transceiver FET - Powers On See Description

From an estate. Added the 8 AA batteries (!) to the removable battery tray and the unit powers on. Static comes through the speaker until the squelch is adjusted. Depressing the PTT button seems to work and it makes the popping noise of a walkie when the button is released and it exits broadcast mode.

I don’t have another CB radio to test the unit, so I’m listing it for parts/as is. The antenna has a section just before the smallest diameter that is pulled out of place, so it won’t fully seat. The smallest section has a slight bend, but that doesn’t seem impact it telescoping down. The small vinyl tether that holds the water resistant cover on the external 12v power jack is broken but the cover is present. Manufacture date of July 1972. Made in Japan by Sony with typical early 70s build quality; beefy. The body is comprised of thick aluminum extrusions. Would make a great parts donor or repair project, a cool retro style casing for an electronics project, or a movie prop.
